Abby Smith

storyboard artist, illustrator, concept artist

Abby Smith is a freelance animator and artist based in Columbus, OH. As a 2024 graduate from the Columbus College of Art & Design, receiving her BFA in animation, she is ecstatic to enter the industry she's admired since childhood. A passionate fan of all things animation and community building, she was a lead and president of CCAD's student-led animation collective from 2022-2024. Throughout her education, Abby had collaborated with companies such as AHA Media, fulfilling the roles of storyboard artist, animator, and colorist. In 2025, Abby Smith was a recipient of the "Funding for Artists" grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council (https://www.gcac.org/). Since then she has dabbled in many mediums of art such as linocut, printmaking, watercolors, and is even making her own comic! Her influences derive from classical mythology, old cartoons, as well as her friends and community.
